Host Malene

This walk is a wonderful mix of cities, towns, urban sprawl, farm land and deep wilderness. In the wilderness I plan to camp, and I am so looking forward to that.

However, my main purpose with this walk is to hold a conversation with the American people – and that means you. I want to get to know you, create new relationships in my life, and reach out to others. It is for that reason I ask for host families throughout my trip. If I come through an area where you live then chances are I am looking to be hosted in your area.

Hosting me can be for overnight, or in hot desert areas it can be for middle of the day to get me out of the heat. As a thank you for hosting me I would love to share my cooking skills and cook you a wonderful, healthy meal.

I can either cook you a great meal using my own recipes, or if you would like me to rewrite one of your unhealthy recipes to make it healthier and cook that for you then I would be happy to do that as well. Please keep in mind that I do not eat or cook with any part of the pig.

Please support my walk around the US

  1. Hi,

I think it’s great what you are doing. I live in the metro Atlanta area and would like to host you. Unfortunately I just have a couch but you are welcome to rest here!

    • Thank you so much Bonnie, a couch is perfect :). I would love to take you up on the offer. I should be in Atlanta area early February 2014. Please tap in to the adventure here or on facebook. My facebook accounts:

  2. Hi Malene! So wonderful the courage and determination you show! If you get near Tallahassee, I would love to walk some with you and hear more about this adventure!! You may also stay with us a night or two whatever you need!! Peace, love, blessings and guidance on your journey!

    • Hey Julie, I will definitely make it to Fl, and would love to stay with you. As I remember Tallahassee is on tje panhandle so I sjould be making it through there.

  3. Are you planning to come through the Dallas/Ft Worth area? I’d love to walk with you! I’ve lost 80 pounds so far and would love to hear about your journey!

    • Hey Jennifer, First of all, congratulations on that stunning weight loss. I know the amount of work you put in to that. I would love to meet you. At this moment my route does not take me into Dallas, however given that I am delayed and want to avoid snow I might have to turn south fairly suddenly and change my route some. Make sure you stay tuned to my blog and my facebook page. Facebook gets the most frequent updates as they get both the longer blog posts and the little almost daily comments I make as I go.
